Taiko Chandler

At Twilight  Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art at Frasier, 2021

"Taiko Chandler negotiates the delicate space between intention and instinct. The artist’s process is like a nuanced performance — physical and guided by technique, carried out with feeling. Chandler combines shape, color, line, and texture as she responds to the natural environment and creates a visual language driven by her imagination.

At Twilight references the artist’s favorite time of day, when colors subtly overlap and bleed together. The artist recognizes this moment as emotional, creatively stimulating, and symbolic of her practice. This exhibition connects Chandler’s print and installation work by exploring the sky as a site for contemplation, reflection, and metaphor."
